Last updated: May 22, 2026

Rainscape ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use our website and mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Rainscape, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We try to collect as little personal data as possible. Categories of data may include:

  • Automatically collected data. Device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate region (from IP address), crash logs, and anonymous usage analytics (e.g., which presets are played most often).
  • Information you provide. If you contact us via email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
  • Cookies & local storage. The website uses local storage to remember your volume, mixer, and theme preferences. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.

We do not collect: precise location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, calendar, SMS, or financial information.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate and improve the website and app.
  • To fix bugs and diagnose crashes.
  • To understand which features are most useful.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with:

  • Service providers who help us operate (e.g., analytics, crash reporting, hosting). They are contractually bound to use data only for our purposes.
  • Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.
  • Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, under equivalent privacy protections.

4. Children's Privacy

Rainscape is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

5. Data Retention

We keep usage and crash logs for up to 24 months. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request, then archived or deleted. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to or opt out of certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.

EU/UK users have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS, access controls, encrypted storage where applicable). No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Third-Party Links

Our site may link to YouTube, Google Play, and other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
